an international consultancy specializing in collaborative planning
and decision support for problems involving resources, risk, and
conflict. It offers expertise in three sets of skills needed to
solve complex, interdisciplinary problems:
- visioning — identifying values; imagining
alternative futures; specifying goals and objectives; and identifying,
designing, and creating different ways to achieve the goals;
- decision making — setting priorities; evaluating,
comparing, and choosing among alternatives; allocating resources;
- group facilitation — organizing and managing
groups to optimize their visions and decisions.
With offices in the United States and Europe, its principals and
associates have worked in many different countries with a wide variety
of clients and beneficiaries, from governmental agencies and international
lending entities, to private companies, communities, and nongovernmental
